As usual on my Monday morning radio shift on community radio 4ZzZ-FM (which is celebrating it’s 35th birthday this week), I had a prolonged chat with social media consumer, commentator and lawyer Peter Black. You can listen to this week’s talk at this link. A large part of our conversation this week focused on the Wikileaks issue – a debate with quite a number of aspects to it. There was also some of the regular ranting about cricket, plus R18+ computer games likely to be heading our way.
Given the huge amount of material put out by Brisbane bands each month, I decided I would also start giving a mention here each week to a local band or recent local release which has particularly grabbed me. Having attended their show launching their new album last Friday night at a sold out show at The Zoo, I figure there is no better group to start off with than Dubmarine. Their new album is called Depth of Sound. Their previous two EPs are both worth a listen as well, but none of them match how good the band is live, so if you they’re playing in a town near you, I suggest grabbing the chance to get along. In the meantime, you can listen to some of their tunes here.
