Andrew Bartlett represented Queensland as a Senator in the Australian Parliament from 1997 to 30 June 2008. In August 2004, he became the first federal politician in Australia to establish a genuine blog, in an effort to demystify and de-hype some of the political debates and processes, and to explore ways to engage more openly and directly with the wider community about such issues. After exiting Parliament, Andrew continued to use this blog sporadically to explore political, social, cultural and personal issues. [Please note that given the age of the blog, many of the links contained in older entries no longer work.]
Andrew returned to Parliament in November 2018 and represents the people of Queensland as a Senator for the Queensland Greens.
Andrew Bartlett has lived his whole life (so far) in Brisbane. He continues to be active in a wide range of areas in policy, politics, education, media and music.
